How success and motivational stories are created?

Have you watched the movie, Rocky? Not the sequels, the original one. If you have any idea of Stallone’s life, you would know that he probably has one of the best success stories in history. What makes the story so powerful is the tale of the underdog. Who doesn’t love supporting the underdog?

“Always be confident that if you can do little things well, you can definitely do the bigger things well too!”

Punit Dhawan

Underdogs are often seen constantly battling the doubts throughout their lives. They are often mistreated and misjudged. They come from a background with severe disadvantages and have gone through heart-wrenching failures. Even after all these things holding them down, and then the underdog rises to the pinnacle of success, this makes their success story so powerful. There are numerous motivational stories that you might have come across with each one of them having their say in motivating you.

  • Seeing an opportunity in obstacles

Once upon a time, there was a king who was wealthy but curious. Once, he decided to test his people to know who has got a positive attitude in life and who would spare time for his country’s progress.

He placed a massive rock in the middle of the road and hid nearby to see if someone would make an attempt to move it. He saw courtiers and wealthy merchants passing by without making any attempts to move the rock away while a few of them even blamed the king for not maintaining the road.

Later, a peasant comes with a load of vegetables and sees the rock. He keeps the load down and tries to move the rock away. After some time, he succeeds in moving it away. He sees the purse lying in the place of the rock. It contained gold coins and a note from the king that read “this is the reward for the one who moves the rock away”.

Moral: It is common for someone to run away from obstacles and problems. But this story shows the importance of seeing opportunities in every obstacle that might improve your condition. You should invest time to remove obstacles in your life and try to see opportunities that aren’t easily visible.

  • The never-say-die attitude of Colonel Sanders

One of the stories that will always inspire budding entrepreneurs even when their morale is low is the story of Colonel Harland Sanders.

“Anything is possible, as long as you believe in achieving it.”

He was a 7th-grade dropout who tried numerous jobs in life but didn’t succeed. He began selling chickens at the age of 40. However, his dream of opening a restaurant was turned down every time because of conflicts and wars.

Later, he decided to franchise his restaurant. He and his recipe were rejected 1,009 times before getting the final approval. Within no time, the secret recipe of “Kentucky Fried Chicken” became a massive hit worldwide.

Moral: You should try hard and believe in yourself no matter how many times you have failed until you are successful.
